Yeah there shouldn’t be any problems as long as the water isn’t completely sealed inside
I’ve got the same tank and have mine blocked off. No negative impact that I’ve ever noticed with the cherry shrimp I’ve got.
Why do you want to block off? Just curious because I have the same tank.
