  1. Start researching what type of shrimp you want, neocaridina are popular starters cause they’re fairly hardy and can reproduce quickly. Have lots of plants, especially if you’re wanting to have a betta, which I would caution against if you want a flourishing shrimp tank. Bettas can be hit or miss, some don’t care to bother the shrimp and others will exterminate them all overnight.

  2. i have this tank! i like the substrate it comes with and the light. you probably will have to replace the filter and light relatively soon after buying it. i would just get a small sponge filter (like the nano size from aquarium co-op) and use that instead. i got water on the light and it stopped working which was disappointing
