The large river prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii), or GRP, is well-known to most aqua culturists. The invention that its larvae wanted brine to outlive past 5 days is the stuff of aquaculture legend. However most cosmopolitan seafood customers don’t know a lot about it. It’s the most important member of Macrobrachium, a genus which means ‘large arm’ within the order Decapoda – which incorporates crabs, shrimp, prawns, lobsters, crayfish and different acquainted critters seafood customers crave.
