It has been some time since I had a betta however I fell for this man as an alternative of turning my tank right into a shrimp paradise.
I have good luck with female bettas & shrimp together. I even have some tanks with multiple females and they get along swimmingly. Also, with females yer not perpetuating the long finned human-made male breeding industry which disables the males and i believe is a form of abuse.
His colouring is so bloody pretty i had a guy like him but unfortunately he passed two days after i got him. Got him from the team store and had a bit of discolouration on the side of his face thought nothing of i because my other Betta room this particular store was a very healthy .

Honestly with that much space and plant growth you could probably still do some shrimp if you wouldn’t mind a few getting eaten lol
