I had a betta with a ton of red cherry shrimp and a zebra nerite. It was HEAVILY planted. The shrimp bred like crazy! And I do mean crazy. My male betta never bothered the shrimp, but would get snacks of teeny babies. Most of the babies would survive to adulthood because of the plant sanctuaries I had in the tank. It was good sustenance for the betta (Mr Bubbles) and helped to keep the shrimp in check (not really) because they were constantly breeding. I miss that tank. I moved states and had to break it down. I spent years on that tank, too. So sad.
