  1. I’d start by not using this tank, not sure what size it is but they probably need bigger (5 gallon seems to be the way to go). Second, have you cycled this tank? Thirdly pick up a API freshwater master kit, it will measure almost all the important water parameters.

    I’d recommend looking at this website as a good guide / start for making your little buddy as happy and healthy as possible.

  2. When I saw the tank and title I was expecting a shitstorm, but then I realized this wasnt on r/aquariums

    I am guessing you have not cycled the tank yet. In other words, good bacteria to break down toxic nitrogen waste from shit and “piss” isnt settled yet. While you could try your luck with a bacteria starter kit since you already stocked it with animals, it is probable your shrimp will die before that is sorted out. But on the bright side an empty tank makes it easier to reevaluate and attempt a more long term solution.
