I keep CRS (A-S grade according to the seller) in my tap water and they’ve bred a lot to the point where I sold several. pH 8.0, 6dKH, 6dGH. Seems like your tap parameters would be similar to mine, so I wouldn’t complicate things unless you’re trying to keep some sensitive strain.
I don’t use root tabs with my Caridina, but they shouldn’t be any more sensitive than my Neos. I used Seachem Flourish Tabs in the past with them, but now I use Nilocg’s root tab capsules.
