It’s certainly possible but a 45g tank is big and they could be hiding out anywhere. If you don’t have any water issues, a UV light filter is overkill and doesn’t add any real benefits to your tank. I’d personally return that and look into getting a cannister filter for a little more money which you can baby-proof.
