  1. Juvenile males will zoom like a breeding male when a breeding female molts. It’s actually quite funny to see the little one’s try to do the Daytona 500 with the big shrimp, they can’t keep up lol.

    I would add more shrimp to be honest. They’re much more comfortable and willing to sit in the open if there are lots of other shrimp around. I’d double the amount if shrimp you have to 12

  2. It’s pretty normal for them to hide when added to a new tank. The zoomies could be a reaction to molting females—teenage humans get horny, so why wouldn’t teenage shrimp? 😂 If your ammonia was high, that might also do it.

    How long did you cycle your tank? I’m wondering why you have 0 nitrate. How are you testing, strips or a liquid test?

    In the long run, the temp might be a little high for them. They do fine in room temp water. Higher temps speed up their life cycle which isn’t great for them.
