It’s happened with one of mine about two months ago, put her in a net and kept it in the water above the tank. She recovered and hasn’t done it since. 🤷♂️
Perfect result. Glad you were able to update your shrimps status with a picture. I recently added shrimp to my tank, and due to your post, I’ll know what my little ones are doing as well.
No and a lot of asterisks. Different aqua soils affect water parameters differently and virtually all shrimp breeders use aqua soils because the porous pellets end up creating grate grazing for shrimp. Neocaridinas need gh and kh and your tap water can vary dramatically depending on where you live, with most people having to add minerals to get “ideal” neo parameters. That being said I keep neos in acidic soft caridina tanks with no kh all the time and they still multiply like crazy.
This just happened to one of my two adult females I got a few months ago and she died. First shrimp to die in the tank, but I’m glad her and the other female had babies. It’s nice to know little copys of her will live on.

All that drama and anxiety for… 😅
Few too many down at the pub
Possibly failing a molt. All my shrimp that had done this either molted soon after or I found dead after 24 hours
You can actually see bits of the mold coming off of him if you look closely!! Definitely just throwing a fit trying to get out.
Maybe his back was itchy 🤣

Struggling to molt but still can make it out, this video looks like a 50/50 chance. Usually we just don’t witness the molting process.
Agreed with failed molt. I’d check your GH, KH and pH

He’s struggling to molt
What are your parameters? Mine act like they’ve been on the booze if I get an ammonia spike
Poor guy accidentally tripped and it was posted :/
he dumb af
Is that aqua soil substrate? Doesn’t it make the water too soft for neos?

Tap dancing
Really just struggling to molt, glad little dude came out safe
Weird that this vid came up. Our shrimp was doing this this morning. My phone is clearly listening to me.
