I don’t know of any fertilizer that isn’t shrimp safe. You can use EI dosing, which adds an over abundance of ferts, and keep a thriving shrimp colony. You can even does Excel in the labeled quantities and keep shrimp.
im using 2hr aquarist products and thats worked fine for me.
I use thrive in all of my tanks with no issues. No co2, heavily planted. I don’t use their root tabs though, I get those on etsy somewhere
What kind of plants and what kind of light?
In low tech, plants are more likely to be carbon constrained, so adding ferts wont do anything
