  1. You’d be surprised how well they hide, even in a small area and there’s lots of hiding places in that tank.

  2. It takes them time to settle in, just like us when we move to a new place. Give them a week, they’ll be all over the tank.

  3. Most likely all hiding. There’s been many times i thought mine died or my betta ate them then a few days later i see them or find them when doing a deeper clean.

  4. If some died, other shrimps can eat them over night. But as other said, probably just hiding. I have a heavily planted 50gal and 5 whisker shrimps and few amanos, which are big ass shrimps, and I see them once a month.

  5. My snail? You mean your hundreds? 😂

  6. Put in 1 small piece of shrimp food in the front and they’ll all come out in no time. Then, you can know how many died (if any).

  7. Absolutely normal, i am even surprised you can find 10 lol, give it a week or two, they will all show up

  8. Mostly hiding behind log or in the upside down pot or in the ones laying on its side. I have 45 in my planted tank. I normally see around 20-30 and it depends on time of day.

I finally saw my first 3 babies last night so that was fun

  9. I know others said hiding and yes that’s probably it BUT i also want to say that when i was a beginner i thought my tank parameters were good but actually it wasn’t, so all the shrimp jumped out attempting to escape it and they jumped FAR from the tank, so uuuh look around maybe

  10. Broken flower pot tank decorations!! Love it, have them in most of my tanks

  11. I have a tank with easily 200+ culls and if I take everything out you can scoop up handfuls BUT with all the decor and wood, you can see maybe 20 at any given time. It’s why so many people have bare bones shrimp tanks but I think decorated shrimps are happy shrimps.

  12. If you just put them in, they hide for a few days as they get acclimated. Give them a week and they’ll be swimming around. They’re checking for threats and food first.

  13. I have ghost shrimp. Story of my life

    Welcome to skrimpin🦐

  14. i want an update hahaha

  15. Redmi Note 11 Pro

  16. They do that don’t worry

  17. THEY HIDE! I got 10 blue dream last week & I have to Where’s waldo every day for a good 20 min to see 1!

  18. I’m sure they are hiding. Give it a few days. Make sure the light is off at night. Mine are really active at night. If you come in when it’s totally dark and shine a flashlight you might see them. But don’t keep the flashlight on too long. They hate the bright light.

  19. Do you have a filter they could have gotten sucked up into?

  20. Drop a piece of lettuce in there and watch what happens

  21. I’ll bet they’re LOVING hiding in the pots!

  22. I have a 40 gallon tank that is nothing but three pieces of rock, a dirt bottom and a thick lawn of micro swords. I put 20 little bitty Amano in there to grow out. Saw them for a day as they zoomed around in their new space and then they all disappeared. That was a couple of months ago and now all of a sudden there are lots of medium sized Amano in that tank!

  23. Hiding I think.I thought mine was dead until a month later found him on the glass.

  24. Do watch your nitrate load. Do NOT let that Java moss get out of hand or you’ll regret it!

  25. Like everyone else says–probably hiding. Shrimp know they are delicious & so they are pretty skittish.

You have lots of good hiding places for them. I would guess:

    – backside of the sponge filter. They love to eat biofilm off the sponges

    – inside those flower pots

    – inside & under the cholla wood

    – under the other wood

You’d be surprised how well they can squeeze under something. I have dwarf crayfish and they like to hide under the driftwood. If they have just molted, they’ll hide for sure, because they are very vulnerable at that point. It is not uncommon for them to molt after a change in water parameters, which is the case when you add them, regardless of how you acclimated them.
