  1. They are offering free manicure /pedicure!

  2. It’s like those pedicure fish that people used a few years ago. Your Bluey had a rejuvenating spa day

  3. Awesome! I’ve always had cleaner shrimp in my reef tanks… such a great symbiotic relationship to witness.

I have found that my bettas do amazing with shrimp for many reasons. I’ve never witnessed this but makes perfect sense- how awesome – but I do know one that mine hunt and forage on the babies and it’s keeps them healthy and active and that’s also a plus, a true eco system at work✨

  4. I’ve never seen this! Amazing

  5. It’s not too far fetched. In hospitals, maggots are still used to eat away dead tissue from an open wound so that the healthy tissue can be cleaned and exposed to air to help it heal. It keeps nasty bacteria from growing on the rotting tissue and impacting the healthy tissue too.

  6. This is actually really cute and wholesome. OP even if they’re just doing what comes natural to them I believe they love each other. I’m glad your little buddy is doing better.

  7. So shrimp are NURSES! Literally they nurse and clean anything they find. Eggs? They’ll clean and eat any fuzz off so fungus doesn’t grow!

Weird critters they eat em. lol. Decaying foods that would make the fish sick if left they eat it. Just so many things so u don’t doubt it they helped LOL

  8. Wow! My boy attacks & eats shrimp! I wish they could co-exist.

  9. These remind me of those saltwater cleaner shrimp

  10. Bro this was insane. That’s why I love having a fish tank. You really never know what you are going to catch them doing lol

  11. That’s pretty cool! I hope your little dude bounces back quickly. It really look like he’s learn or understood to place himself in a such a way to grant cherry shrimps access to his long fins to clean. They’re eating the dead or unleathy tissue so I’m sure it’s beneficial. I’ve never seen it happen but there are similar symbiotic relationships throughout nature.

I only have amanos with my betta. My previous one would hunt down cherries so I never put them back together. I’m envious of bettas getting along with cherry shrimps!!

  12. Shrimps is bug doctors 🥼

  13. Just like maggots cleaning a wound unintentionally

  14. He will eat them in return

  15. Wondering if this might be a very underutilized and mostly unknown aquarium hobby trick.

  16. this is so cool i don’t think i’ve ever heard of this!!

  17. Were you anxious a first that they might eat your betta?

  18. my betta died right after the tank went to bed and my whisker shrimp ate his tail and fins bare overnight. this happened a few (3) years ago. i still have the shrimp colony to this day lol. this situation seems pretty harmless though.

  19. How did you get your rotala that colour?? obsessed

  20. This is very normal in marine environments. Lots of fish let shrimp pick off parasites and what not.

  21. Theyre so sweet my betta is so cute with his shrimp friends. I think he was recovering from an illness when i got him from my local pet shop so i put him in my desk tank with 4 cory’s and like 20 neocaridina shrimp (there would be more but they are so many tiny babies atm). Hes never been agressive towards them but he does get curious and have a closer look and the shrimp kinda jump away. Betta fish has a little spot in the tank with some driftwood and floating plants so hes pretty happy now.

Shrimp are so gentle with the bettas and i think they can be some of the coolest tank mates together

  22. And thus, the fresh water cleaner shrimp was born

  23. Rotala Vietnam?

  24. What are those plants OP? They’re very pretty!

  25. I’ve seen my cherries clean my Cories before, when the Cories find that it’s too much they’ll just swim away or move slightly

  26. Voila, he is clean!

  27. Dude how did you get your rotala vietnam h’ra to turn red? Did it come to you green and than it turned red? I’ve had mine for 3 weeks and it’s about 3 inches high and still green 🙁

I’ve got high light and co2 injections with the proper nutrients.

  28. Shrimp tend to be eaters of parasites and dead things.

  29. from what I’m seeing he has fungus.
