I’m excited to share my brand new planted tank setup with you all. It’s been just a day since I set it up, and I’m looking forward to creating a beautiful and thriving aquatic environment. I would love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and any advice you might have!
Tank Details:
– **Setup age**: 1 day
– **Tank size**: 2.2 Gallon cube tank
– **Aquatic animals**: None (*for now*)
– **Plants**: Anubias
– **Wood**: Spider wood
– **Substrate**: Soil pellets
– **LED**: LED from 9-6pm
I’ve chosen Anubias plants as they are known for their resilience and ability to thrive in low light conditions. The Spider wood adds a nice touch and provides a natural-looking environment for the plants.
I’m planning to wait a few weeks before introducing any aquatic animals, specifically red cherry shrimp. This will give the tank’s water conditions a chance to settle and establish a stable environment for the shrimp.
That’s a really nice light for a nano setup! I would make sure the anubias does not get too much, as they will get algae quickly/leaves melt. Add some floaters. Double as a light canopy and helps absorb nitrates.

Just FYI, you’re not supposed to plant your shrimp 😛
Nice looking tank. Keep an eye on the water being too high shrimp are pretty jumpy and might jump out from time to time.
