What the heck is in my tank? Child shrimp? They seem like shrimp but additionally do not, and will not go away the gravel

When I saw the still image I thought it was a picture of animal shit in some hay
100% scud. Harmless little guys and fish love to eat them. I keep a tank full of them for feeding.
I gotta ask bro, what is that that looks like straw?

Definitely scuds. Once they’re in the tank, they’re in there for good. And I’m assuming this is a shrimp only tank.
They’re harmless to fish obviously because fish love them as live food but I think it’s still up to debate if that’s the case when it comes to shrimp only tanks. They could either compete for food or be a threat to young shrimp.
Do you have straw in your tank?
