Are you looking to keep cherries? The active substrate is not ideal for them but they can adapt to it somewhat. It would be best to buy cherries that are already growing in active substrate tanks
This looks like Fluval Stratum Substrate there for Cherry Shrimp should thrive in this. There are a lot of assumptions made here. Any how I would definitely put Cherry Shrimp in here unless you don’t find them fun. Tank looks great and Shrimp will definitely do well.

looks beautiful! be careful with the filter with shrimp, make sure they can’t crawl into it lol
