  1. Why not both?

  2. If you are going for shrimp, make sure that they have ample hiding places for their offspring as they may end up as snacks for your neons.

Please don’t take this personally or as a general attack on your setup, but I honestly believe that with these dimensions your tank works best as a shrimp habitat; fish move mostly horizontally; vertical space is less valuable for them, especially when swimming in formation like a school of neons would.

  3. Shrimp and otos

  4. I’m pretty sure I have this same aquarium. I have both shrimp and a Nerite snail, plus 8 neon tetras.

  5. You’re welcome, it will look nice

  6. neon tetras like longer tanks and like to stay in a school of at least 6 but it looks like a good tank and I’ve never had shrimp but I want to get into it, I love snails though so I would go with snails

  7. both they go well together

  8. They are you’d need at least 4 since they’re schooling fish ideally 6 and above.

  9. I’d say add 5 mystery snails, 10 shrimp and 6 more neons and that tank will look lively
