1. Biofilm. Your shrimp will eat it.

  2. A completely normal and harmless biofilm that always grows on new wood. Your shrimp will readily eat it.

  3. Shrimp should have a field day with it

  4. Your shrimp should eat the biofilm, but to prevent so much of it in the future, soak your driftwood in boiling hot water a couple of days.

    This will also prevent your water from instantly turning tea-colored and help the wood to sink faster.
