  1. I would cut the bacter ae out completely, it causes more problems than good. Can cause bacterial infections. It’s ok for neos very sparingly but I don’t risk it with my caridina. I switched to baby food instead of bacter ae, seems to be working much better. It’s kind of a large tank so they will hide until they feel safer when the numbers go up. When they aren’t eating, it’s a sign that there’s lots of biofilm to graze on and bacter ae. Send me pics of your tank if you don’t mind.
