Depends on the betta. It seems like you have a fair amount of hides though. If it were me, I’d get some RCS and build the colony divided and—once you’ve got a hefty stock (they’re prolific breeders)—is remove the divider.
If you take out the divider there is a chance that the Betta will eat the shrimp
