Can anybody establish this? It is in one in every of my shrimp tanks which has had nothing else added.

What do you feed them?
fish food
Do you have any fish? I used to leave a container of water outside for a bit and feed the mozzie larvae to my fish

Mosquito larva! Fish love eating them, but I’m not so sure about shrimps. I recommend you net it out and trash it.
