  1. If they’re just shipped many of them will lose their colour during the shipping process because it’s incredibly stressful. But once they are acclimated into a tank their colours will come back. Usually they’ll colour up in 24-48 hours.

  2. They have the right patterns. They just look very very stressed

  3. Looks like them, yes.

Just very poorly now since they’re super stressed. Let them settle in a tank and see how the color will come back.

  4. Is this how you all get shrimp delivered??? I’ve only had the plastic bags. This looks so much more secure.

  5. Any update?

  6. Definitely crystal reds with the close up picture you showed in comments.

Let them settle and they’ll get their color back.

Also make sure your tank have a dark substrate as their red colored cells can grow and shink to blend with the surrounding (in the wild the red is originally black, so it allows them to be dark in the shade and clear when swimming in the open). It’s no surprise they go ghostlike in a clear bottle.

Get ready to lose something like 20% of them if they got stressed a lot during transport, it’s quite normal and the rest of the group will be fine after settling.

They look like pretty decent quality C-grade CRS, which are the prettiest in my opinion. Enjoy your new cute biofilm munchers ! 🙂

  7. I’ve had several shipments including Crystal reds lately and mine have never gone transparent and lost their red. They fade but it should still be obvious if they are crystal reds.

Theres 2 possibilities. These are either the lowest of the low grade crystal reds its ever going to be possible to find.

    OR

They may not be Crystal reds. There are a couple I can see (1 or 2 maybe 3) that look like they could possible be very very low grade Ghost bees (crystal white shrimp to some people) but even then they look like very low grade ones. very hard to tell.

Depending how much you paid per shrimp depends how annoyed you should be but really they don’t look like they’re worth more than 1/1.50 each to me.

Edit: Checked out the close up photo and some still look like ghost bees, some look like very very low grade crystal reds. Higher graded ones have much more white on them or visible markings like No entry sign, Dancing man, Crown etc. Or they go the other way and you get Super crystal reds which are almost entirely red with just a dab of white on the face and ‘belt’ and tail which is how they get the name santa shrimps (black version is also cool and called Ninja shrimp) So at least you have got caridina, hopefully they have a massive colour up when they do settle but i’ve never seen shrimp lose this much colour from posting.

  8. Wowzers! That is absolutely madness packaging! We are Shrimp Corner based in the UK, we always use breathable bags polystyrene boxes and padding even insulation and heat /ice packs when required! Never seen shrimp so stressed 😢…get acclimating hope they make it! ❤️‍🩹

  9. Not an expert but dont caridinas usually have more opaque color/white? These look like low grade neocaridina to me. Like I said, not an expert though.

Can you get a closer, more detailed photo of the shrimp themselves?

  10. It’s hard to tell forsure but to my eyes they all look like crystal caridinas. Only time will truly tell. Hopefully if you get them acclimating their colors start to come back.

  11. Wait for them to acclimate. I ordered yellow golden backs and they were orange and dull. I contacted the seller and they refunded me just for them to turn yellow in the next couple days. I reached back out to let them know that they colored up correctly and they never responded. I felt awful

  12. Update? (:

  13. Hey everyone! They have feelings you know!?

  14. They look more like orange rili imo
