Yes, it needs to be rooted in substrate.
Maybe some root tabs as well, depending on the substrate.
Jungle Val. I’ve had it grow 3+ feet in length!

Val, when it reaches surface it blocks out light.
Jungle Val, but don’t bury the node or bottom of the green. It can rot really easy, make sure you don’t break any leaves, and if you cut them, make sure it’s with sharp scissors.
