I’m a fan of large shoals of small schooling fish in nice big tanks. The fish have plenty of space to zoom around and you get to see how beautiful it is when they shoal.
I have emperors tetras in a 45 (?) gallon (200 litre) tank, and they’re so interesting. I get to see the males establishing and defending territory, shoaling, breeding displays, they’re just brilliant.

Schools schools of fish… All those cool swimming patterns. Also could try various types of fish a community.
Angel fish or gouramis look nice with your particular tall tank design. A small group of apistos or rams, kribs, peacock gudgeons maybe?
